Afrique.

I miss the dirt upon the streets
I miss the sand forever stuck to my feet.
I miss the markets full of noise
The dusty roads and cloudy skies.
I miss the hawkers there who sell their goods,
The children running down the roads.
I miss the eyes so bright and cheerful smiles,
The passion and the love that shines.
Lives of challenge yet hearts of hope,
A life more simple, with different trials.
A daily challenge to my western jaded heart,
To live with faith and passion,
To never give up Hope.

To the people of West Africa,I miss you.

Filmstrips of life.

Some say a picture speaks a thousand words,
Perhaps I am odd,but I prefer words.
Photographs show beauty in the flash of a moment,
But the truth behind a second can stay long hidden.
Where are the words that these pictures tell?
With stories of love and stories of pain,
A meaning is buried within the frame.
A smile that hides the fear within,
Of what's to come, and time wearing thin.
A frown for a mask, to make you seem strong,
When underneath, you were crumbling down.
Eloquently speak through your picture frame glass,
Words that are silent, but shatter so loud.
Your cries to be heard have broken through,
And your steel frame face has finally moved.
You smile so beautifully and love so strong,
Perhaps I was wrong then all along.
To just be heard, and to speak out loud,
These pictures were your sound.

Daybreak.

Let’s hold our hands tight and dream
Praying for the sky to last another night.
These shooting stars illuminate the sea so bright,
The waves crash loudly,
Tearing up the sand so smooth.
The moon in it’s fullness brings a l i g h t to your face,
So full of hope and wide-eyed joy.okay
You’re like sunshine on the cloudiest day.

Uninhibited.

Like the smile on a lover’s face when their desire is seen,
Standing close enough to touch,
Near enough to embrace.
With sentiments of comfort, love and peace,
An intimacy so deep that a glimpse is all that is sought.
To say that this is nothing perhaps is understated,
However there is more to know, to learn, and to live.
To know the One who yearns with a passion unbridled
A Seeker of lovers,
lovers of this Desiring Presence.
To know this Passion,
a Lover of such endless extremes
Calls for a life devoted.
What sacrifice would suffice
To receive such a Desire?
No human act can earn such a Gift,
All I have to offer are these simple things:
A heart surrendered,
love uninhibited,
And an irresistible existence now to now be lived.
This is Grace.
This is Acceptance.
This is Forgiveness.
This is wholly undeserving, and utterly awe-inspiring

The Dynamic of Patience.

To a someone somewhere,
Perhaps its you.
I want you to know that I miss you.
Maybe we've not yet met,
Of what matter is distance?
Or somehow we once were the best friends,
That now have moved apart.
No difference to me,
Wherever you are,I love you.
My heart beats like a drum forced out of r h y t h m
and skips like a stone through the spring waters
When I think of you and the future we'll have together.
Please wait and don't forget about me,
I'm still here waiting
Missing,loving,and wanting you.
